We have a need for some more teachers. If you would be willing to work for one rotation at a time, that would be great. If several people rotated in for each rotation, no one would get overloaded. Talk to the Pastor.

Sunday School Rotation

This has been a wonderful change in our Sunday School. What started out as a trial program, has turned out to be permanent. More than anything else, the results are being seen in the children, they are learning and remembering. Here is a brief description of this method. If a child comes all five weeks of a rotation period, he or she would learn the lesson in 5 different ways:

            1.  Storytelling - straight from the Bible

            2.  Computer - we now have 8 computers

            3.  Movie & snack

            4.  Games/Drama

            5.  Craft/Food

Each teacher has the same station (i.e. craft) for the whole 5 weeks, but has a different age group each Sunday.

 Memory Verse

There is a memory verse chosen for each 5 week rotation. A sheet with the rotation schedule and the memory verse is given to each child at the beginning of each rotation. On the 5th Sunday, those who can recite the verse get a candy bar (not to mention God’s Word hidden in their hearts!).

Attendance Awards

We are changing our attendance award program. Rather than getting a little gift at the end of each rotation, there will be an award given once a year on Promotion Sunday. It will be a gift certificate ($ to be decided) for Berean Christian Store. There will be two award levels: Perfect (52 Sundays), and Near Perfect (46-51 Sundays). Excused absences count as a Sunday attended. Just about any reasonable absence is excused, they just need to talk to one of the teachers or Pastor John before the next Sunday. If they know ahead of time, they can speak up in Sunday School.

Computers

Wow!!! Our computer lab is awesome. We now have 8 working computers, and lots of great ideas to make a good thing even better. We give our thanks first to the Lord, then to the McMillans. They, and others (you know who you are!), have put in quite a few hours to make this part of our ministry into a reality. Come and see what’s up downstairs!

Puppets

Fall of 2000, we were able to buy 10 brand new puppets for our drama room. These are quality puppets that will last us a very long time. Thanks a bunch to the anonymous giver who made this purchase possible. We are having a blast with them!
