LaDonna, Jenny, and Crew return for another fabulous week of teaching, fun, food, and games. X-TREME SPORTS is the theme. Round up all the kids, 2 years old and up, and bring them to the Church at 9 until noon each day for an extremely great time!
The VBS staff will be doing the Morning Service on August 3 and then be at Huntington Lake for the Evening Service. Come and join us!
This is also a call for cookies, about 7 dozen a day. We welcome any parents who would like to help in some capacity. Serving cookies and punch is one great way to be involved. We are anticipating a lot of fun and noise!

Join us at Huntington Lake, Dowville Day Use Area, each Sunday evening at 6 p.m. We have a potluck BBQ and a devotional. Bring your own BBQ and then a salad and/or dessert for all to enjoy. Our evening vespers is in a spectacular cathedral! Invite a friend. Come often! It is a great evening! Only four times in August.

Paul Harvey's On-Air Prayer
"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!"
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation under God."
COUGH CPR
What are you to do if you have a heart attack while you are alone.
The Johnson City Medical Center staff actually discovered this and did an in-depth study on it in our I.C.U. The two individuals that discovered this then did an article on it...had it published and have even had it incorporated into ACLS and CPR classes.
This procedure does work. It is called cough CPR. A cardiologist says that this positively true!
Read This.....It could save YOUR life!
Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving home (alone of course), after an usually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated.
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. What can you do? You've been trained in C.P.R., but the guy that taught the course, didn't tell you what to do if it happened to yourself.
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order. Without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, normally has 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by
coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every three seconds without let up, until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again, and pain subsides. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs, and coughing movements squeeze on the heart, and keeps the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.
In this way, heart attack victims can make it to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could savetheir life!

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath.
NOW IN THE CHURCH LIBRARY the kid’s version of The Left Behind series.
LOST AND FOUND: Pastor John currently has two items. One is a children’s wallet. The other is an earring. It is three gold rings attached at the clasp.
New Child
We have a new World Vision child to support. Her name is Lindokuhle Sigwane. Lindokuhle lives with her parents in Swaziland, Africa, and has no brothers or sisters. Her parents struggle to provide for the family. Lindokuhle and her family live in a community severely affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis. In some communities, AIDS affects the entire social structure as a generation of hardworking adults is being wiped out. Frightened children and exhausted grandparents rarely have money for food, school, or medical care. Through sponsorship, you can ensure access to these and other basic needs for Lindokuhle and her family. Lindokuhle is not in school at this time because the child is still too young. She likes to play with dolls. She helps at home by running errands. She is in good health.
A Good Beginning: Dear Lord, so far today I’ve done alright. I haven’t gossiped, lost my temper, been nasty, greedy, overbearing, selfish, or obnoxious. I’m really glad I’ve accomplished all these things on my own. But in a few minutes, Lord, I’m going to get out of bed—-and from that point on I’m going to need all the help I can get from You.
Amen.
Anyone desiring to be baptized or to find out what baptism is all about, let Pastor John know and we'll schedule a class and an event.
