Sue's Message

John has fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith and now his residence is in heaven.  He has no more pain and is no longer suffering!  Something I’m really grateful for.  I know this will seem strange to some of you, but one of the first things I thought of was NOW he can sing instead of making just a joyful noise.  And sing he will and as heartily as ever!  :)

I could probably be in tears most of the time, but I have chosen to be rejoicing with John on his new location.  He would want me to do that!  Sure, I grieve, but I have the hope of seeing him again one day!  So, on September 26, 2009, at the Sierra High School Gym at 3:00 pm we can celebrate his home going!  John would like us to be joyful rather than sad at this time.

I’m sure that John would like to see all of you in heaven, but some of you haven’t made reservations yet.  Let me explain how to meet him there:

Romans 3:23 says that all of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  You, me, we’ve all sinned.  Maybe not a big sin like murder or adultery but like lying, or wanting something that doesn’t belong to us, or hating someone.  It doesn’t matter how big or how small, we’re all guilty!

Romans 6:23 tells us the wages of sin is death…..  That’s our penalty for sinning—death.

John 3:16 gives the solution to our problem.  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.  Christ willingly died that we could live.  John is alive in heaven today, because at 9 yrs. old he believed that Christ had died for him.  Why don’t you make the same commitment??

The love of my life now has a new home, so, I too, am going to a new home in Pasadena.  I will live with Jennifer and Aaron and Sharla lives less than a mile away.  I’m looking forward to this new situation.    We’re in the process of cleaning out the house in Big Creek.  At times we find it’s a bit overwhelming and at other times we just have to laugh.  We have lived in the same house for 36 yrs.  Oh my goodness, the STUFF we’ve found—all my pre-stroke things are still there, boxes and boxes, books and more books, and more books, and then the kids get into the  mess with posters of Bo Jackson(remember him?), Ken Griffey Jr., Cabbage Patch dolls and Barbie doll stuff.  Pray for us as we go through everything that we will know what to do with it all.

As Is. 41:10 says He continues to strengthen and help us day by day, but do pray for us as we get use to life without a husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather!

We appreciate your cards and prayers a lot.

As John would say…
Walk with the King and be a blessing to someone today.
